About the Author
Gary Dessler has degrees from New York University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and the Baruch School of Business of the City University of New York. Dr. Dessler's best-selling Human Resources Management is also available in more than 10 languages including Russian and Chinese. Dessler's other books include Framework for Human Resource Management, Fundamentals of Human Resource Management, Managing Now, Management: Modern Principals and Practices for Tomorrow's Leaders, and Winning Commitment: How to Build and Keep a Competitive Workforce. He has published articles on employee commitment, leadership, supervision, and quality improvement in journals including the Academy of Management Executive, SAM Advanced Management Journal, Supervision, Personnel Journal, and International Journal of Service Management. As a Founding Professor at Florida International University, Associate Dean, and Chairman of the Management and International Business department, teaching courses in human resource management, strategic management, and management. good book; not much resale value

Very good book indeed. Used this as a textbook for a Human Resource class. Very well-structured and goes in depth in discussion without sounding too dry, the end of chapter Case Studies with Carter Cleaning Companies was something that I really liked. If you're a Human Resource or Management major, you'll probably have more books from Gary Dessler, and I bet you'll love em. Only down side I can think of is resale price. I bought it in December '14 for $50 and the resale value now is around $30 after a semester (in May 2015) - a 40% slash in resale value. Apart of that - no complaints about the book. Great text, aced the class - thanks to the author!

A Very Good Read, Even For A Textbook!

I enjoyed the class and the book. I used this textbook for my Intro to Human Resource Management and found myself genuinely enjoying both. The book is amazing! It is not as big as I thought and the paperback is quite soft. But the seller sent me the book with the speed of light! That was amazing.. I contacted them to confirm no delays because I was in a rush and the service/speed/effectiveness was rad!!! Very pleased!
