About the Author
Robert N. Lussier is Professor of Management at Springfield College. Having taught management for more than 25 years, he has developed innovative and widely copied methods for applying concepts and developing skills that can be used personally and professionally. A prolific writer, Dr. Lussier has more than 350 publications to his credit, including other best selling textbooks (such as Management Fundaments: Concepts, Applications, Skill Development, also by South-Western/Cengage) and articles published in Academy of Entrepreneurship Journal, Business Horizons, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Management Education, Journal of Small Business Management, Family Business Review, and Journal of Small Business Strategy and many others. He served as founding director of Israel Programs and taught courses in Israel. His international experience also stretches to Namibia and South Africa. He holds a bachelor of science in business administration from Salem State College, master's degrees in education and business administration from Suffolk University, and a doctorate in management from the University of New Haven.

Would you like to determine your own motivation / leadership style? Are you task-oriented or people-oriented? Although I have not used the entire book, Chapter 12 of this book presents several self-assessment surveys based on McGregor's Theory-X / Theory-Y, McClelland's Achievement-Power-Affiliation, and Herzberg's Motivators-Hygienics models. Chapter 10 has a self-assessment survey based on Likert's System (Authoritarian-Benevolent Authoritarian-Consultative-Participative). Very useful.

About the Author
Imam Mohamed Hag Magid currently serves as the President of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). He is the Imam of All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Center in Sterling, Virginia. Imam Magid has co-authored Reflections on the Qur’an and written a chapter in Change from Within: Diverse Perspectives on Domestic Violence in Muslim Communities. Salma Elkadi Abugideiri is a licensed professional counselor. She is also a founding board member of Peaceful Families Project, an organization dedicated to ending domestic violence in Muslim communities. She has authored several publications addressing domestic violence, relationship and mental health issues in Muslim communities.

Everyone will benefit from this book...regardless of their age, sex, relationship status, or even their religious beliefs.

This is a must read book for everyone. I think it should be a requirement for everyone to read it in high school. To be honest, I was skeptical and thought I will not learn anything new...I WAS WRONG. It was easy to read, made valid convincing points , used a lot of real life examples of real issues. This book will not only benefit the Muslim community, but even non-Muslims can benefit from it.
I have two younger brothers, and I am about to purchase two copies for them as gifts right NOW!!!!

Practical guide for singles and couples

Bought this book this weekend at a convention - and couldn't put it down! Well written and researched, this is an easy to read and pratical guide. I was worried it would only be useful for engaged couples, but I appreciated that the authors made it relevant it for singles and married couples as well. Can't wait for their next book!

Great book !!! I have read several books on the topic of marriage and this is by far THE BEST and most RELEVANT book for American Muslims !! I have been suggesting all my single friends to purchase it and read it !
