This book is a waste full if errors

Do not waste your money on this book diagrams are not numbered so you must stop and count through 70 plus diagrams each time they are refered to. Mulitiple errors in answer key. Charlie Wing should be charged with Fraud!!

Get Your Captain's License Ed. 3

I received this volume in the mail about two weeks ago and have been hard at work using it to prepare for my exam. While not yet licensed, I have boated and sailed much of my life and am familiar with most of the material in it already.

The new edition is quite thorough. It not only presents all the questions, but has substantial guides preceding each section to help you understand the principles, which I find to be the most helpful feature of all. The volume's only weakness is it is written in a very dry, technical manner making it somewhat laborious to read. Also, if you are not already familiar with some of the concepts, you need to read more basic, outside resources to prepare you to study them in this book, otherwise it will leave you behind. However, if you are not familiar with the material in this text, you probably should not be applying for licensure yet either.

Finally, the new version of the software is very good. It still does not offer to test on the navigation problems. The author correctly states it cannot do this because one cannot plot with compass and parallel ruler from charts on a computer screen. However, I wish the software offered the tests anyway so that I could at least put my answers down and have it confirm them. It would just be more convenient for practicing.

Great reference book for anyone interested in bats!

There are very few books written about bats, let alone one as informative and easy to read as this one. Neuweiler delivers an exceptional reference book for professionals, students, and anyone who wishes to learn more about these fascinating flying mammals. If you are looking for pretty pictures, this is not the book to buy. If you want a comprehensive presentation about bats, then this is a book that should find its way into your library.

The yummy trilogy will become an Addiction!

Honestly , the first book hooked me in, I had to go purchase the next two in the trilogy; why because the cliffhanger ending caught me! I neede to know what happened so be prepared .

Valentina"Vale" Zamora is out of a. Bad marriage to a man who did not appreciate what he had leaving Vale A bit self conscious about herself but determined to move on. Vale decides to get away and travel to her favorite place, Paris, for s one shopping and food therapy and if she can a hot fling no strings attached. Vale is a beautiful Cuban women, with curves and unfortunately her ex 's true colors came out that he really preferred shapeless blondes, so the opposite of Vale.
While standing in line waiting to check in for. her Air France flight she notices a man who sends her body on full alert , tall dark, handsome and sexy, but she thinks who is she kidding he would probably be more intrested in the model in front of her on line.
Jason spotted Vale,not sure if she had seen him or even remembered him, he however remembers her and how dissapointed he was to find out she was married when he met her a few years ago. Jason gets through check in and moves on to his flight, no sense crying over missed opportunities.
Vale watches Jason move on wondering were the hotty was going only to discover he is her seatmate on the flight; Jason can not believe his luck , she may be married but he is going to enjoy the few hours he has on the flight with her, which quickly become even more enjoyable once he discovers she is divorced! The chemistry between these two is spectacular and Vale chooses to give in to the lure that is Jason, she grabs for the little bit of pleasure his mouth and hands supply and finds herself dissapointed that he will be going further on after Paris to the Mediterranean for a cruise with his friends ,but they exchange numbers and plan to meet up when back in Miami!
By the time she is checking into her room , the text begin and the longing for each other more intense,till Jason abandons his cruise and flies to Paris to surprise her. Vale is thrilled to see him but makes it clear she only looking for. casual sex no strings, Jason decides new ill take what he can get and work on changing her stance.
Paris vacation flies by with hot sweaty sex, sightseeing, fancy restaurants and more hot sweaty sex; but all good things come to and end and parting at the Miami airport not knowing if Vale is willing to give him a chance is killing him.
A day later and Vale is confiding to her cousin all about her wonderful trip when tragedy strikes and bam cliff hanger.
So yes cliffhanger , worth it absolutely, the author paints a beautiful picture of Paris and it's sites and also writes some wonderfully erotic scenes.
So jump on in to a good read and a good trilogy!

Vale is taking a trip to Paris. When she boards the plane she finds herself being seated next to the a very sexy man. But this man is no stranger to Vale, while she doesn't recognize him at first, he certainly remembers her. They met a year prior while she was on girls only trip with her friends. They hit off then, but Vale was still married to the bastard. Vale isn't looking for a relationship, her marriage wasn't good and her ex was demeaning, emotionally abusive and a cheater but that doesn't mean she isn't open to something casual and in the moment.

The sparks fly between them once again and they re-connect on the flight to Paris. When they land however they go their separate ways because Jason already has plans to meet with his friends on a cruise.

When Vale gets a message from Jason telling her that he sent her something and she needs to be at the hotel to receive it in person, she believes he is sending her flowers but is shocked when she finds that the something he has sent is himself.

There days and nights are filled with amazing........food (you thought I was going to say sex, right?), sightseeing and toe curling, steamy, hot, passionate sex. Jason has made it very clear he wants more with Vale, but she is unsure of what she wants, she has feelings for Jase but she believes that even though he wants to explore what they have that he will change his mind once they get home.

I really like Vale! Her feelings on food, alcohol, clothes and self-esteem are something every woman feels, I mean who hasn't had bag envy at sometime or another? She has been hurt and emotionally beaten down and has come to believe the things that her ex said to her. Her trip to Paris begins to break down her feelings of self doubt and Jason is a huge part of that.

Even though I like Jason, he is to possessive to fast and while I know he is hiding something about what he does for a living, he is hiding something else, and it's going to be huge. He is to much to fast, and he seems a bit stalkerish to me. Not saying his feelings for Vale are anything but true, but he is not all that he seems and I am hoping the next book brings some changes in him. I would love to get more from his pov because I feel that would help me understand him more.

I can't wait to see how all of this plays out, and I am really looking forward to more shoe envy!

After finally getting out of a bad marriage, Valentina decides to treat herself by taking a trip to Paris. While at the airport she sees a glimpse of a man who is “delicious and sexy”. When she finally boards her plane, she is thrilled to see she is sitting by the man that caught her eye. Come to find out, they met three years earlier while in Nassau. At that time, nothing happened between them because Valentina was married. But now that she is divorced, anything goes. In fact her goal while in Paris is a no strings attached affair. But alias Jason’s only has a stopover in Paris. He was on his way to Rome to hook up with some friends. However he can’t stop thinking about Valentina. After some hot “Spanglishexting” Jason decides to cut his trip short and meet up with Valentina in Paris. From there it is an all-out passion fest. As they being to spend more time with each other, there are little hints as to Jason’s background and hints that Valentina has “issues”. But alas, you don’t find them out. I guess this is why there are two more books in this series. When they get home, Valentina steps back and tells Jason their time together is over. Jason is devastated but allows Valentina time to work out her feelings. After Andi, her cousin, tells Valentina she should not give up on something good, Valentina decides to call Jason. And this is where the story ends. The author does a good job describing the setting, but sometimes it seems too in-depth. She also does a lot of name dropping when describing Valentina’s outfits. Also sometimes she uses foreign words, which to me as a reader is sometimes annoying since you don’t know what it means. While the chemistry between them was hot, you get a sense of Valentina’s insecurities about how she looked. Jason though was really sweet and tried to get her to believe that even though she was curvy she was still beautiful to him. This is the first book I have read by this author. Overall it was good. I just hate books with cliffhangers. But I think it was enough to keep me interested so I want to find out what happens next.

I wasted no time diving into her second

After devouring Mindy’s first book in two sittings, I wasted no time diving into her second, Why Not Me?

Why Not Me definitely has a different tone that her debut. And that wasn’t a bad thing at all. After all, Mindy had matured in age, in wisdom, and certainly in experience, so naturally so did her writing.

I didn’t find myself laughing out loud as much, and yet I loved this, in many ways, even more than her first. Again, there is this relatability to her writing. As if you aren’t just one of Mindy’s fans or readers or even close friends. It’s like she is you long-lost sister.

Mindy continues to share details of her life and how she has gotten to where she is. But she also opens her heart up even more widely and invites us in. To her fears. To her desires. And even to things she isn’t all that proud of. She is honest and I found myself nodding in agreement to so much of what she talks about.

This isn’t just a light and fluffy book of comedic essays about life. While, yes, she has a very quirky and fun sense of humor, she also tackles a lot of serious issues – bullying, body image issues, finding true love, and balancing work and life, as well as many other issues.

Mindy is a talented. Period. And so very driven. She has the very unique way of inspiring and touching us deeply, while simultaneously giving us a smile and a chuckle.

Why Not Me? was a compelling, insightful, and provocative look inside the amazing life of a truly amazing person. I hope that she will continue to share her story with us. I have to admit that I was a little taken aback when I reached the end. I wanted, no needed, more Mindy.

MORE MINDY PLEASE!!

I LOVE, love, LOVE, Mindy Kaling.

She has this incredible ability to make you laugh, cry, and make you feel great about yourself all at the same time. She knows that hard work, in the end, is truly what matters. And that when you're working hard, it's ok to show off. She talks about her body with confidence and a voice that says, "ok, let's stop talking about my body." Because Mindy Kaling is not just a woman repping curvy women, she's a woman repping hard working people in general.

The chapter about her relationship with BJ kills me because I am THE BIGGEST Mindy and BJ shipper. I just love them. I think even if they never get married and have adorable babies, they need to stay together in one way or another for the rest of their lives because they build each other up and complement each other in magical ways.

It took me about 2 months to read this book. Not because it was a slow read or because I needed that much time to actually read it. I would pull it out of my purse once or twice a week and read a new section in order to make it last as long as possible. It's such a comfort read and there's no plot to keep track off so it's perfect for a bit of a long read.

An Excellent Role Model

Mindy Kaling is an exceptionally intelligent woman who has worked hard for her success in an industry that's been famously unfriendly to women. Her book is mostly not about that. Instead, it's a deceptively hilarious extended meditation on how she from bribing classmates to like her with Skittles at the age of 12 she became the force of nature that she is. In Hollywood, which believes its own fictions about what the world wants from female writers of comedy and even more about what it wants from female TV icons, she's done what every woman in the TV business must have thought was impossible: created her success by hard work and being herself. She was there before Lena Dunham and before Amy Schumer.

This book is funny, so maybe a younger person might miss the recurring message: to achieve success, MK had to pick her priorities (make sacrifices) at every turn. Near the end of the book, there's an excellent account of how she learned the difference at a young age between earned success and unearned self-esteem, which is something many parents today don't understand.

How did she learn to rise above her own insecurities? By refusing to concede that other people's ideas about what she was entitled to achieve were more valid than her own--and by hard work, sleepless nights, and knowing what she wanted. Most important, she emphasises the absolute and seldom acknowledged connection between self confidence and self acceptance and hard work plus tenacity. And yet on the surface, it's a funny book that's not about any of those things.

I liked it. Any ambitious young woman would benefit from reading this.

She's an excellent role model for any young woman who wants to learn how to get there (or anywhere) from here.
